Health & Safety
I aim to create a safe and supportive experience at every appointment. As sessions take place in your home or chosen space, please ensure the area is clean, quiet, and has enough room for me to set up safely.
Your Health
Before your treatment, I will ask you to complete a consultation form. This helps me to understand your health history and confirm that massage is safe and suitable for you.
Sometimes certain conditions mean a massage may need to be adapted, postponed, or avoided. Not all contraindications prevent treatment – in many cases we can continue with modifications or with guidance from your GP or healthcare provider. We will always agree together on the best approach for your care.
Examples of conditions that may require adjustments and further consideration include:
- Fever or infectious illness (e.g. cold, flu, COVID-19)
- Contagious skin conditions (e.g. ringworm, impetigo, athlete’s foot)
- Recent surgery, fractures, or acute injury
- Undiagnosed pain or swelling
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or serious circulatory issues
- Certain cardiovascular conditions (e.g. uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease)
- Pregnancy (unless discussed and agreed in advance)
- Cancer or recent cancer treatment (may require medical consent)
- Diabetes (if poorly managed or with circulatory complications)
- Epilepsy (depending on frequency and management)
- Osteoporosis (in advanced stages)
- Skin allergies or sensitivity to oils
My Safety
As a mobile therapist, I take steps to ensure my own safety. My location is continuously monitored by a safety control centre who have permission to listen to the environment if I raise an alarm. If at any point I feel the environment is unsafe, or if professional boundaries are not respected, I will have to bring the session to an immediate end.
